Norge, Part 2: Oslo

We had a bit of spare time before we headed up to Alta in northern Norway and the midnight sun, so Dagfinn took us to Oslo for a day.

It was about an hours drive south of where we were so we ate lots of strong, salted Norwegian licorice and talked about...stuff. Tipi slept most of the way.

We checked out the new Opera house - Tipi christened it in her own special way. .....

We had the best seafood lunch ever at a nice cafe in the centre of town and then we headed to the Vigeland Sculpture Park where this famous Norwegian sculptur Gustav Vigeland had created some very unusual columns and fountains - check this one out for yourselves:

Its called the 'Monolith' and was designed in the 1920s by Vigiland.

Jamie also got this great shot of this guy doing skateboard tricks off a flight of stairs next to the column - his skateboard was so noisy but this pic made it worth listening to it.
