Oui Oui
Hi Folks,
a quick update - man these french keyboards are hard to write with. (They've moved the keys around!) We just saw Tammy off at Pau airport, where she caught a flight to London and on to NZ. Tams was with us for 8 days travelling down through France. Some highlights so far:
Bayeux:
Normandy beaches and the allies and german graveyards. Why do countries go to war? We are universally stupid aren't we. There were some incredibly brave people back then.
Bayeux Tapestry - actually an embroidery? (not that I'd know the difference) made to commemorate William the conquerors victory in England over the baddy Harold who broke his oath in the 11th century. It was 70m long and it's amazing that it survived at all because during the french revolution when the king and queen got their heads chopped off the tapestry was taken out of the church and slung over a wagon to cover the produce within. It was also hidden from the germans in the 2nd WW.
St Emilion - a beautiful village in Bordeaux surrounded by vineyards and chateaus. We took a cycle tour and met allsorts of cool people.
San Sebastian - a quick visit to this Spanish coastal party town to give Tammi a taste of Spain. Crowded beaches, tapas bars, sangrias - a real party scene, and about all we could take after 24 hrs..
Now we're heading to the Pyrenees for a while to try to get some air - enough of cities and highways!
The vans been brilliant so far, and not too crowded as the weather has been great in every place we've camped. Will put some pics up soon

Hey guys sounds like you're having a great time! funny that the keys are different on the keyboards! that must have been tricky!!
can't wait to see some pictures.
