Rubber-dub-dub!

Congrats to Jamie's sister Pip, who guessed the mystery object was rubber! The smelly blobs form after dripping out of cuts in the rubber-tree bark and into a coconut shell (or plastic bottle). Rubber is a major industry in Southern Thailand, and a big earner for the village on Maphrao Island. After cleaning and heating the raw material, they press it into mats thru a big wringer. Pip gets the scarf, as well as an engagement present (that's two sisters with weddings coming up!) Cheers if you took a guess. Look out for our next competiton, where we will be giving away a genuine marmot-skin cloak!
