Richard in an interesting stance on the first ascent of his new route 'The Rat'


We are really enjoying living in Wales! My vet job has been a real pleasure, with a good caseload in an organised clinic full of friendly people. The farmers are good sorts and I have enjoyed/endured lots of lambings, calvings, bull castrations and some dehornings, as well as sick animals etc.

Meanwhile Kate has been putting her CV about for some possible GIS work, and has had a little bit of interest. Till that works out she's got a job at a cafe on Anglesey (the island just off the coast) which is pleasant enough (see pic below)

My vet position runs out in a week (which means no flat, no car, no phone etc) and we have decided we'd like to stick around this area for the summer. The rock-climbing and group of people we've met here are great. So I am trying out other clinics for some more work. Hopefully something will come up soon!

Other news - after a rough time (to say the least!) our new nephew Jackson is home with his family (Katie's brother and sister-in-law Bruce and Simone) and is thriving. Fantastic news, he has been in lots of peoples' prayers and is a much-loved little boy. We can't wait to meet him!
